This is primarily due to increased <br /> <br /> advertising for recruiting purposes. <br /> <br /> $50,000 Storeroom: <br /> There is an anticipated shortfall in the storeroom's account. The additional funds <br /> will enable the storeroom to provide, without interruption, the necessary office <br /> supplies and paper to the County Departments and Agencies. <br /> <br /> $25,000 Property Management - OCE (Miscellaneous Charges). <br /> <br /> In 2006, Resolution 254-06 was adopted allowing the abandonment and <br /> Disposition of TMK: (3) 7-5-006:14, a parcel of land that was to be sold to the <br /> owners of the Oceanview Inn. $25,000 of the funds received from this sale were <br /> earmarked for the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, but it was never <br /> appropriated and thus, lapsed. <br /> <br /> Planning (Contact Person - Chris Yuen): <br /> <br /> $25,000 Planning - Equipment (Motor Vehicle): <br /> <br /> Due to the recent theft of their County vehicle, the requested funds will be used to <br /> purchase a much needed replacement. <br /> <br /> Research & Development (Contact Person - Jane Testa): <br /> $42,410 Hawai'i County Resource Center (Miscellaneous Contractual Services): <br /> <br /> The Resource Center needs the extra funding to further develop its Community <br /> Development Planning initiatives and its Assets Building Model. <br /> <br /> Public Works (Contact Person - Jiro Sumada): <br /> <br /> $376,106 General Services - S&W (Regular S&W): <br /> <br /> The settlement of Civil Case Number 98-244, United Public Workers Union <br /> (UPW) versus the County of Hawaii, et al., relating to the privatization of <br /> janitorial and ground maintenance work, forced the County of Hawai'i to <br /> create custodian/groundskeepers positions. <br /> <br /> <br /> I <br />
