The property is located along <br /> the west side of Kilauea Avenue, approximately 420 feet south of the Kilauea Avenue - <br /> <br /> Puainako Street intersection, Waiakea Homestead Houselots, South Hilo, Hawaii, Tax Map Key: <br /> 2-2-40:121. <br /> <br /> PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT <br /> 1. Request: The applicants are requesting a change of zone for 23,559 square feet of land <br /> from a Single Family Residential - 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to a Neighborhood <br /> <br /> Commercial - 20,000 square feet (CN-20). <br /> 2. Proposed Development: The applicants currently operate Lani's Beauty Salon located <br /> <br /> at the Puainako Town Center. They are proposing to convert an existing 768 square- <br /> foot, 1-bedroom/1-bathroom dwelling into a beauty salon and relocate their business to <br /> <br /> this new location. The project would include four (4) sitting chairs in the living room and <br /> the bedroom would be converted to a waxing room. There would be four (4) parking <br /> <br /> stalls for the use. <br /> 3. Project Timetable and Cost: The project is proposed to be completed by the end of <br /> <br /> 2007 or early in 2008. The estimated cost of the renovation would be approximately <br /> $30,000. <br /> <br /> 4. Supportive Information: The applicants, who are the landowners, have submitted a <br /> Change of Zone Application in support of the request.
