No. 518-08 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:04 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 518-08, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No.518-08, transmitted with Bill No. 230, by Director of Finance William Takaba, via <br /> Communication No. 984, dated January 22, 2008, authorizing the Office of the Mayor to enter into an <br /> agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, pursuant to Hawaii Revised <br /> Statutes 46-7, for a traffic safety training project. <br /> The State of Hawaii Depaztment of Transportation has authorized a $78,033 Traffic Safety Training <br /> Project Grant to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. These funds will be used to implement a project <br /> <br /> that includes: assignment of a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney to be the Statewide Traffic Safety Resource <br /> Prosecutor, providing statewide training for police and prosecutors, developing modulaz trial advocacy <br /> training for deputies, and participation at monthly statewide traffic commanders meetings. <br /> Pursuant to HRS 46-7, requires that County departments obtain the consent of the County Council to enter <br /> into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action(s) to be take pursuant to any of <br /> the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with <br /> projects being undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 518-08, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> la <br /> Hues Noes A&e sx Respectfultysubmitted, <br /> FORD X <br /> RIGA X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> HOFFMANN X <br /> IKEDA X <br /> JACOBSON X <br /> NAEOLE X <br /> PILAGO X DOMINIC YAGONG, IR <br /> YAGONG X FC REPORT O 242 <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: Z ~ 209 <br /> <br />
