Such efforts include focused educational <br /> tours; outreach student workshops; standards-linked curriculum enhancement; <br /> docent training for school tours; teacher workshops and outreach instructor <br /> training; dissemination of information to teachers about Museum school-related <br /> programs; an annual agenda of lectures, demonstrations, performances, <br /> workshops, and other presentations for the community; and public programming <br /> specifically linked to traveling and special exhibits at the Museum. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Total Budget and Position Count <br /> <br /> Total Program Budget 113,500 Total Program Position Count 2.5 <br /> Total Agency Budget 676,140 Total Agency Position Count 17 <br /> <br /> <br /> Program Objectives: <br /> <br /> 1) Conduct curriculum-appropriate school tours at the Lyman Museum for <br /> student groups of any grade level. <br /> 2) Provide teachers on the Island of Hawaii with information about available <br /> Lyman Museum educational, school-related programs and how to access <br /> them. <br /> 3) Train docents to lead school tours. <br /> 4) Develop age-appropriate curriculum, on the natural history of Hawaii <br /> especially as it relates to the Museum's Hawaii Before Human exhibits. <br /> 5) Provide educational outreach workshops on topics related to the natural <br /> and cultural history of Hawaii for County of Hawaii schools. <br /> 6) Train outreach workshop instructors. <br /> 7) Conduct teacher workshops on Hawaii natural and cultural history topics <br /> to link to school standards. <br /> 8) Carry out an annual public program for adult members of the community <br /> with monthly lectures, performances, workshops, demontrations or other <br /> presentations. <br /> 9) Develop and present special programming for each travelling or special <br /> exhibit at the Museum. <br /> <br /> <br /> a NONPROFIT GRANT APPLICATION <br /> FISCAL YEAR 2008-09 <br /> Page 3 <br />
