~~V os N~ <br /> LIT <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> , <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 552 08 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN INTER-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF <br /> MAUI TO PROVIDE LIMITED ASSISTANCE FOR REAL PROPERTY MAPPING. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS, due to a sharp increase in development and real property sales occurring on <br /> the County of Maui, the County of Maui, Department of Finance, Real Property Tax Division <br /> (hereinafter "County of Maui"), has requested the assistance of the County of Hawaii, <br /> Department of Finance, Real Property Tax Division (hereinafter "County of Hawaii"), on a <br /> limited basis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Maui requests that the County of Hawaii assist the County <br /> of Maui in the abstracting and data entry necessary to update the County of Maui's real property <br /> tax mapping system for asix-month period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Maui will compensate the County of Hawaii for services <br /> and costs based on actual labor hours in an amount not to exceed TWENTY-FOUR <br /> THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($24,500.00); and <br /> WHEREAS, it is understood between the County of Maui and the County of Hawaii <br /> that performance of the above services shall be as is available to the County of Hawaii without <br /> detracting the County of Hawaii from its own duties of servicing the County of Hawai`i's real <br /> property tax system; and <br /> WHEREAS, based on the short duration of the agreement and temporary availability of <br /> <br /> time of the mapping section, the agreement can be completed without disruption of to the County <br /> <br /> of Hawaii real property tax system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Governmental Employees Association (hereinafter "HGEA"), <br /> <br /> represents the mapping section employees; and <br /> WHEREAS, the HGEA has been informed of this agreement and has not indicated any <br /> <br /> opposition to the County of Hawaii performing this service on a limited and temporary basis; <br /> <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended, an <br /> <br /> inter-governmental agreement must have the consent of the Council. <br /> <br />
