,pv w <br /> ~I~~^. <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> h~Oi~M~~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 558 08 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO DISPOSE OF <br /> REAL PROPERTY TO THE STATE OF HAWAII FOR THE CONSOLIDATION AND <br /> RESETTING ASIDE OF LANDS UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER N0.2196 WITH LAND <br /> PURCHASED FOR THE NEW SOUTH KONA POLICE STATION. <br /> WHEREAS, on April 29, 1965, Executive Order No. 2196 set aside lands under the <br /> existing Kona Civic Center, identified as Tax Map Key: (3)8-2-001;084, situate in Kealakekua <br /> (Captain Cook), District of South Kona, to the Department of Accounting and General Services; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Accounting and General Services authorized the county <br /> to utilize portions of the Kona Civic Center lands for its existing fire station and police <br /> substation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the existing Kona Civic Center site has over one acre of undeveloped land <br /> on its southern end; and <br /> WHEREAS, the county wishes to develop a new South Kona police station to replace its <br /> current substation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County Council of the County of Hawaii approved an appropriation for <br /> the purchase of Tax Map Key: (3)8-2-001:072, which is adjacent to the undeveloped area of the <br /> Kona Civic Center lands under Executive Order No. 2196, for the development of the new South <br /> Kona police station; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 30, 2007, the Department of Accounting and General Services <br /> agreed to allow the county to build the new South Kona police station on the undeveloped <br /> portion of the land under existing Executive Order No. 2196 and the soon to be acquired parcel <br /> identified as Tax Map Key: (3)8-2-001:072; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is intended that upon purchase by the county of the adjacent parcel <br /> identified as Tax Map Key: (3)8-2-001:072, the parcel will be conveyed to the State of Hawaii, <br /> allowing consolidation of the new parcel with the existing Kona Civic Centex; and <br /> WHEREAS, such consolidation will allow for the development of the new South Kona <br /> police station without the restriction of setbacks; and <br /> <br />
