<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the public sufficient time to review and provide input on the CDP's and advance the <br /> process forward for timely adoption by the Council. <br /> <br /> The purpose of the request is to add a new section, Section 2-28A, Chapter 2, <br /> Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) to provide a time frame for the <br /> <br /> Planning Commission's review and recommendation to the County Council on a draft <br /> <br /> Community Development Plan or amendment, to read as follows: <br /> "Section 2-28A. Community Development Plan <br /> <br /> Within sixty days after receipt of a draft communit~ development plan or any <br /> community <br /> amendment thereof the planning_commission shall transmit the draft <br /> development plan or any amendment with its recommendation through the mayor <br /> to the county council The commission shall recommend approval in whole or in <br /> <br /> part with or without modifications or refection of the community developmern <br /> plan or any amendment. In the event the planning commission fails to act on the <br /> <br /> community development plan or amendment within the sixty-day period, such <br /> inaction shall be considered as an unfavorable recommendation by the planning <br /> <br /> commission, and the community development plan or amendment shall be <br /> submitted through the mayor to the coumy council with such recommendation." <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> For the reasons cited above, the Planning Director recommends that the Planning <br /> <br /> Commission send a favorable recommendation to the Hawaii County Council to amend Chapter 2, <br /> Article 7, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended).
