<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially <br /> equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate <br /> <br /> degree in public administration, business administration, or a field pertinent to the <br /> department's programs and activities. Three (3) years of professional experience that <br /> involved the conduct of studies and analyses of programs or projects pertinent to that of <br /> the department's programs through active participation in the planning, coordination, <br /> development, implementation, and/or evaluation process which demonstrated the <br /> ability to identify information needs, collect and analyze data, identify problems and <br /> <br /> alternative solutions, and to recommend an effective course of action. <br /> <br /> Supervisory aptitude: Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude which is a <br /> demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties <br /> through the successful completion of regular assignments that involved some <br /> supervisory responsibilities or aspects, by serving as a group/team or project <br /> <br /> leader; by completing supervisory training courses accompanied by the <br /> application of supervisory skills in work assignments; or by receiving favorable <br /> appraisals from a superior indicating the possession of supervisory potential. <br /> <br /> License Requirement: Ability to travel independently to various geographic <br /> locations. This requirement may be fulfilled by the possession of a valid State of <br /> <br /> Hawaii driver's license (Class 3), a valid comparable driver's license, or use of <br /> other means of transportation that meets position needs. <br /> <br /> Knowledge of: principles and methodology of program planning and <br /> development; research and evaluation methods and techniques; report writing; <br /> public relations; effective organization and staff utilization; knowledge and <br /> <br /> understanding of department's programs and activities, operations, processes, <br /> goals and objectives, issues and concerns, policies and procedures, regulations; <br /> related state and federal laws and regulations pertinent to the department's <br /> program; related state and federal agencies, community organizations and <br /> agencies, resources, and services that interact with and have an impact on the <br /> department's programs and activities. <br />
