• Y - The cost of trucking trash may not be less and is a ridiculous use of highways and fuel.
When will recycling be mandatory as in mainland cities?
• Y - Councilman Hoffmann, thank you for seeking our opinion. Note that our input does not
resolve you of any liability to your voters. You are aware of the details.
• Y - From both votes in one household - hopefully this will be a methane gas & other energy
acquiring facility.
• Y - The alternative to this project is ridiculous! Creating employment on the East side of
this island is the problem - this is a safe solution but a positive step.
• Y - We trust your judgment on this issue - you have the info.
• N - Keep hose garbage trucks smelling up Waikoloa. The trucking companies need the
money. By the time all the spoils are divided setting up the "facility" the island will be under
water or garbage. The garbage will be sent to the moon before construction ever begins.
• Y - Please address Dominic Yagong's landfill proposal.
• Y - How about a by-pass road?

• Y- We need to proceed with feasibility for this project. Aggressive recycling must be an
integral component.
• NOT through Waimea!
• Y - Mahalo for giving us the opportunity to comment.
• Y - - Why can't Hilo enlarge its present landfill, as some people have suggested (an old
quarry nest door)?
• Y - Get it on ASAP. Recycle everything possible. Get as much energy as possible and give
the balance to Pele. Thanks for your hard work on this.
• Y - Do it!
• Y - We must as a community be responsible & deal with our opala. We are also responsible
as community to work toward sustainable energy development.
• Y -Needed greatly. A solid waste transfer station at Waikoloa!!
• Y - I would like to see the least amount of toxic residue, preferably none. We must get
started with examinations.
• Y - Encourage an aggressive recycling program as part of this.
• Y - But this step should include a comparative cost estimate with alternatives, inc. present
system.
• Y - Good Luck!
• Y - Proceed.
• Y - If it does not cost the taxpayer during this development period please proceed with due
caution.
• Y - How do costs compare with other options over the long run?
• Y - I trust you have given this due diligence. We need to at least get more info/answers.
• Y - What you say about this makes a great deal of sense. I trust your judgment - go for it!
You need to be our mayor.
• Y - To avoid
