• Y - Also do a study on need for Bioremediation system... now check
www.hydrolo ixsystems.com or lvnnahvdrologix.org.
• Y - Make sure Hilo waste stays on the East side.
• Y - Since there is a development period I would be for giving it consideration. Sounds better
than some of the other options - such as trucking garbage to this side.
• Y - I still feel there wasn't a very good investigation into leading technologies.
• Y - We need to do something and not just talk about it.
• Y - Ask manu questions.
• Y - We have enough trash here.
• Y - Do not truck from Hilo - this will cost far more than the proposed facility - fuel will go
up 5% each year.
• Y - Trucking is a no no, no - 30 yrs. Of experience tells me that the costs of trucking have
been underestimated.
• Y - I believe that the slow rate of progress which the council follows leads to controversy and
dissent. Alternative waste disposal costs have not been compared to the $125 million/25
years. It should be a given that E. HI trash shall not be trucked to W. HI.
• Y G-Power - Be helpful if you put more info on the topic at top - I think this is G-Power, if
so - good.
• N - 125 million is a good investment to solve the problem and proceeding with the first step
at no obligation seems like a "no brainer" - and at least we are moving forward!

• Y - Move forward with gusto!
• Y - Approve the first step.
• Y - As long as this proposal helps the big trucks from parading through Waimea, I am in
favor of the program.
• Y - The country should, in no way shape or form, the monetarily liable for building a private
facility. This company wants to charge $150 million, which could provide a plant for an area
of 10 million people no 200,000. There need to be a complete audit of all expenses incurred
by this company.
• Y - We need a recycling program. Where we separate bottles, aluminum cans, plastic, PVC
cartons, newspapers, oil & paints, appliances, used furniture. Go to Germany, 85 million
people not just 150,000 on this. It will work. Do not trash your car on your lot or street.
Hawaii must be kept clean not trashed.
• Y - We also need serious recycling.
• Y - We are 100% behind you on this. Thanks for asking.
• Y - Would the west side continue as is?
• Y - To re-state what we said on the phone; please look into the shady past of the parent
contractor. Waste Mgmt. And check into contract mgmt maintenance history of
Wheelabrator; Get university closed system waste incineration review & critique - of any
plan in DETAIL; Check out different designs & get seismic tsunami, hurricane & volcano
lava flow consults from independent assessors.
• N - Windy Waikoloa is no place for trash collection by truck. Wind & hilly terrain scatters
trash and barrels all over. We line the transfer station.
• Y - Time to bring Hawaii out of the 19th century and into the 21St century. Need mandated
recycling, wind farms, solar energy also - keep up good work!
