• e • President Rene Mansho announced that at the legislature meeting on January 20, 1998, the following issues were brought up. A presentation by all four mayors was given on the TAT. Maui County was the only one volunteering to give away their 20% to support the promotion of the tourism industry. All other mayors were saying they wanted to keep the existing formula. The legislature is asking for a county consensus to be unified on certain issues. We do have consensus from the mayors as far as the privatization issue. Collective bargaining is an issue that we need to bring up to our county councils. Rene will draft it and it will be discussed at a future meeting. Vacations should not be given automatically when you start, that you should work one year and then get it. Health benefit packages are expensive for the family packet and we're not hiring the entire family, therefore the benefits should go to the employee and not the whole family.
