The property is located approximately one mile east <br /> <br /> of the Keaau Town Center at the end of Milo Street in the vicinity of the former Puna Sugar <br /> <br /> Company Mill site, Keaau, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-6-3:05 (Portion). <br /> GENERAL INFORMATION <br /> <br /> I. Landowner Authorization: The landowner of the subject property is James and <br /> Francine McCully. <br /> <br /> 2. Permission to Use Roads: The subject property is bound by private roads along the <br /> north and south property boundaries. Permission to use these private roads have been <br /> <br /> granted by deed from W.H. Shipman, Ltd. (See Exhibit A) <br /> 3. Ordinance No. 97-66 and Ordinance No. 97-67: The County Council approved <br /> <br /> Ordinance No. 97-66, effective May 14, 1997, which redesignated a 14+-acre portion <br /> <br /> of the subject property that fronts the private section of Milo Street from State Land <br /> Use Agricultural to Urban. The County Council also approved Ordinance No. 97-67 <br /> <br /> to rezone the subject property from A-20a to ML-20 and FA-3a, effective <br /> May 14, 1997. The applicant intended to develop a mixture of industrial and <br /> <br /> agricultural lots to service the needs of the community and region in the Puna District. <br /> The ML-20 zoning would allow for approximately 14-one-half to one acre sized fee <br /> <br /> simple lots and the remaining 17±-acre portion that was rezoned to FA-3a would <br /> allow the creation of five 3-acre lots. <br /> <br /> APPLICANT'S R_F.OUEST <br /> 4. Request: The applicant is requesting that the existing ML-20 zoned portion of the <br /> <br /> subject property be rezoned to MCX-20 to allow for a greater mix of uses. <br />
