<br /> Section 3-10 Signs allowed with perreaits, in all districts <br /> Refines description of temporary signs or banners permitted and requires a "remove by" time, <br /> <br /> adds signs which were previously considered exempt from the permitting process, including <br /> announcing signs, subdivision improvement signs, and signs describing the name of public, <br /> <br /> charitable, non-profit, or religious institutions. <br /> <br /> N.13.: may be considered content-based. <br /> Section 3-12 Sigaas permitted in all other districts. <br /> (1) Ground Sign: refines ground sign requirements that scales size and height of sign permitted <br /> to lineal frontage of lot, with 3 categories, allowing a 16 square foot sign 8 feet high, a 24 square <br /> foot sign 12 feet high, or a 32 square foot sign 16 feet high, to provide appropriate scale. <br /> (2) Marquee Sign: reduces size allowed from 250 square feet to 60 square feet; maximum letter <br /> height not to exceed 24" . <br /> (3) Projecting sign: reduces size allowed from 32 square feet to 16 square feet; prohibits <br /> extending above the building. <br /> (5) dVall Sign: (13) Refines wall sign size to a maximum of 10% of wall area, or 32 square feet; <br /> (C} Reduces wall sign size to a maximum 15% or 150 square feet. Notes that painted window <br /> signs are considered one type of wall sign. <br /> (6) Window Signs: allows window signs or painted window signs to cover an area of no more <br /> than 25% of total window area (same as ICailua Village) <br /> Section 3-33 Height above buildangs: <br /> Requires that sign not extend above building. <br /> Section 3-35 Signs erected pri®r to the e#~ective date of this chapter: <br /> Allows nonconforming signs for a period of 36 months following effective date. <br /> Secti®n 3-35 Penalty: <br /> Fine is $100 per day instead of"up to $500." <br /> Secti®r~ 3-47 Educational material <br /> New provision; requires issuance of a brochure/pamphlet to assist with public understanding and <br /> easy use of revised ordinance. <br /> <br />
