<br /> <br /> <br /> ATTACHMENTI <br /> <br /> <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> <br /> 1. The CONTRACTOR shall provide the STATE pursuant to the Safe and Drug- <br /> <br /> Free Schools State Grants Program, Elementary and Secondary Education Act of <br /> 1965, as amended, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance No. 84-186A, with <br /> coordination and administration of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program <br /> (hereinafter DARE) to the County of Hawaii. The CONTRACTOR shall be <br /> responsible for the implementation of the DARE curriculum which teaches <br /> children the necessary skills to recognize and resist the subtle and overt pressures <br /> -that cause them to_experiment with tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. <br /> Specifically, the CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the following: <br /> <br /> A. Provide the DARE curriculum which consists of one (1) lesson per week <br /> for one (1) hour to all fifth graders in the public schools, and other grade <br /> levels as resources permit. <br /> <br /> B. Provide the DARE police officers with the following trainings: - <br /> <br /> 1. A minimum of one (1) police officer shall be provided an <br /> opportunity to attend the Hawaii DARE Officers Association <br /> Conference on Kauai. <br /> <br /> 2.,,/ A maximum of three (3) police officers shall be provided an <br /> opportunity to attend the National DARE Officers Association <br /> Conference in Albuqueque, New Mexico. Each officer who <br /> attends the conference shall submit a report which includes lessons <br /> learned and recommendations. <br /> <br /> 3. A maximum of one (1) police officer shall be provided an <br /> opportunity to attend the DARE Facilitator Training in Los <br /> Angeles, California. The officer who attends the training shall <br /> submit a report which includes lessons learned and <br /> recommendations. <br /> <br /> 4. A maximum of two (2) police officers shall be provided an <br /> opportunity to attend the DARE Officer Senior High Training in <br /> Los Angeles, California.
