In 1992, 1 <br /> received a letter from the Department of Puhlic Works requiring us to hook up into the sewer line <br /> within 120 days after being notified by the Chief Engineer or the Department of health. <br /> <br /> After watching the County Council Meeting on Television. I was very distraught to see <br /> that some people were exempt and some people had to hookup, I am one of them that had to <br /> hook up to the sewer system in 1993 and had to take a 13ome E uityl.o n to pay for this hook <br /> up and not only that, 1 am paying every other month for the sewer waste bill which is now <br /> $50.00. I understand that a lot of elderly people live it) the Kalanikoa Subdivision or any other <br /> subdivision which are now requiring Residents to hook up. And I truly understand that they are <br /> a lot of elderly people who are on fixed income auid 1 understand there point of view, because it <br /> is not cheap to do this hook up but what about all of us who did have to hook up, what about. <br /> [IS. <br /> <br /> The urncern that I have, is the fairness to this matter. 'I was under the impression <br /> that everyone had to be hooked up to the County Sewer Line. I am still in debt and plus every <br /> other month I'm getting a bill which will never go away. And as Councilman Aaron Chung <br /> mentioned, J Ioel (hat he was on the right target that everybody should pay for it and not only us <br /> who had to hook up. Because it you really think about it-for instance.. <br /> The Public School System, which all tax payer pay for, even though they don't have any kids or <br /> who may he going to a Private School in that matter, but we are all paying for it, so the same <br /> should be for this Waste Water System. <br /> <br /> I don't believe the people who hooked up should be paying for sewer tee if everybody <br /> don't have to hook up.
