The <br /> amendment would delete the provision that allows exceptions to connection requirements for lots <br /> accessible to a sewer which was paid for by a private developer. The amendment also limits the <br /> reimbursement to private developers of sewer extensions to one half of the cost of installation <br /> and eliminates the requirement that all sewer extensions be approved by resolution of the County <br /> Council. The purpose for amending the code is to bring our County Code into closer compliance <br /> with State regulations and to streamline the sewer extension process. In particular, Section 21- <br /> 5(b)(3) appears to be in violation of Section 11-62-06(b), HAR which states "All building(s) <br /> generating wastewater and located within or near proximity of an available public sewer system <br /> as determined by the director, shall connect to the public sewer." <br /> <br /> We ask for your consideration in adopting the subject ordinance.
