Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Resolution No. Rd-03. reports as iiillows: <br />Resolution No. 8d-03. transmitted by Director of Finance William 'I~akaba, cia Communication <br />No. 27_+. dated June 17.2(103. authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with <br />I.aupahoehoc High and Elementary School for a ~fitle V Juvenile Delinquency Prevention <br />Program. <br />In Januar}~ 2003_ the County Council passed Resolution No. 15-03 and Ordinance No. 03-li, <br />accepting and appropriating these grant funds to create or expand prevention program(s) that <br />address juvenile delinquency risk factors identified in the I lawai'i County comprehensive <br />strategic plan ibrjuvenile justice. 'fhe Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has solicited and has <br />rccci~°cd proposals from organizations to assist in its Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Program. <br />I.aupahoehoe f ligh and f{Icmcntar~ School's proposal was selected to expand their Nati~'c <br />I Iawaiian Community-f3a~cd 1?ducation Learning Center program. <br />Pursuant to Section 46-7, I lawai'i Revised Statutes, county departments must obtain the consent <br />of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or stag governments respecting action to <br />be taken pursuant to am of (he powers grained by law to furnish, expend and receive anv funds <br />or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />pmvcrs. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution Uo. 8d-U i <br />and rcconunends its adoption. <br />sine <br /> AP4:S VIIYti ~d 4'.
