In 1999, Marc Smith ofthe <br />Department of Land and Natural Resources I Iistoric Preservation Division conducted a study and <br />lixmd that there are no historic sites remaining on the subject site, and because the property was <br />previously grubbed and used fbr limited agricultural purposes, it is cspectcd that no archaeological <br />or historic features exist on the site. <br />:~cccss to the subject property is from Mamalahoa I lighway and the OId Government Road along <br />the eastern boundary, and from 1lornestead Road along the northern boundary. The Police <br />Deparunent has some concerns regarding the ingress and egress from the proposed subdivision <br />onto Mamalahoa Highway, and recommends that improvements, meeting with both State and <br />Counri~ requirements, be constructed al the intersections. <br />According to the Department of Water Supph~, water can be made a~ ailable from the existing <br />system on Mamalahoa -lighway. <br />there is no municipal sewer system in the area. Commirice Member .toe Rcy Holds suggested that Condition E? he amended by applying <br />the lair share contributions to the Kaloko/Mamalahoa Flighwac intersection improvements, and <br />Your Conunittee agreed. Committee Member James Arakaki sought to ensure that the amount of <br />the lair share contribution was justified, so Your Chair explained that similar to precious Kaloko <br />i~onings, we have used the standard language which includes a specific section stating the funds <br />would be used for the intersection improvements. <br />Greg Moocrs, representative fix the applicant recommended that Condition P include the phrase <br />°to more than one lot' in the first sentence. so it reads: "Homestead Road, if used to provide <br />access. to more than one lot. shall...~~_ and Your Committee agreed. l~he amendments proposed <br />and agreed upon by Your Conunittcc today will be reftccted in Bill No. 130, Draft 2. <br />
