No. 418/Bill No. 185 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 185, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 185, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 418, <br />dated November 19, 2003, amends Ordinance No. 03-90, as amended, the Capital Budget, <br />ending June 30, 2004, by adding the following project: <br />POLICE: <br />Microwave Relocation & System 1 10-299-5299.47 $700,000 <br />Renovation -Private <br />Funds for these projects shall be provided from private contributions. <br />Funds will be used for the project's upgrades to allow co-locators to the microwave system. The <br />co-locators will reimburse the County for costs incurred to add them to the system. <br />The Hawaii County Police Department's Microwave Relocation and System Renovation project <br />was initiated to replace the existing microwave communications system used by a variety of <br />public safety agencies. The project involves the analysis of the current facilities, agreements <br />with co-locators, acquisition of tower sites. tower modification and new tower construction, <br />equipment purchase and installation, and ultimately the transition to the new equipment. <br />Some members of Your Committee requested an amended financial impact statement from <br />Police Department.
