No. 135-03 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />TIME: 2:05 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 135-03, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 135-03, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br />No. 429, dated December 1, 2003, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Solution <br />2003 -Neighborhoods in Action. <br />The Solution 2003 -Neighborhoods in Action has graciously donated six sets of lock displays <br />for the Hawaii County Police Department's Community Policing Officers to educate the <br />community on how to slow burglar entry, to deter some crime, and to protect their homes and <br />businesses better. The value of this donation is estimated at $565. <br />Pursuant to Article X[II, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br />County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br />A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Solution 2003 -Neighborhoods in Action, c/o Ms. <br />Lillian Beaufrere, 73-1403 Kaika Place, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 9674Q, acknowledging this <br />generous donation. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 135-03 <br />and recommends its adoption. <br />SI71C <br /> .\\'ES NOFa A&h.
