This <br /> scholarship, treated as a donation to the County, paid for the training expenses for a 5 <br /> week class in Alfred, Maine; the cost of acquiring a dog; a chemist's certification of the <br /> dog; and all of the transportation expenses. Inspector Perreira, now certified as an <br /> arson canine handler, and his trained canine, named "Kaimi", will enhance the <br /> department's fire investigative skills for the County of Hawai'i by being qualified to <br /> determine origin and cause of all fires.
