No. 676-08 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 676-08, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 676-08, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br /> No. 1269, dated May 28, 2008, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from State Farm <br /> Insurance to the Hawaii Fire Department for Fire Inspector Robert Perreira's arson canine five- <br /> week training class in Alfred, Maine. This donation is a scholarship to be used to pay for all <br /> training fees, cost of acquiring a dog, room and board during the training, chemist's certification <br /> of the dog, and transportation expenses for the initial five-week class..The approximate value of <br /> this donation is $23,000, which includes the canine, training and travel expenses. <br /> <br /> Fire Inspector Robert Perreira thanked the Committee for the opportunity to work with arson <br /> canine Kaimi.
