But now, when increased levels of sulpher dioxide are detected, rescuers responding to
emergencies will have additional safety gear available to them.

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, along with Insurance Associates and Stan A. Kinoshita &
Associates, are teaming up to donate $14,700 to Hawaii County Fire Department to help purchase
120 new breathing filters. Each air purifying respirator will connect to the firefighter's face mask to
help filter out potentially dangerous contaminates in the air.

"The safety of our firefighters is absolutely key when responding to any emergency," said Fire Chief
Darryl Oliveira. "These new respirators will enhance the equipment and strengthen our respiratory
protection program capabilities."

The grant package is part of a nationwide program called Fireman's Fund Heritages which is
funded by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. The program is designed to provide needed
equipment, training and educational tools to local fire departments. Since 2004, Fireman's Fund
has issued grants to over 1,000 different departments totaling more than $18 million. Independent
insurance agencies that sell Fireman's Fund products are able to direct these grants to support fire
stations in their communities. Insurance Associates and Stan A. Kinoshita & Associates combined
their two individual grants to support Hawaii County Fire Department's firefighters.

Chief Oliveira, Hawaii County firefighters, and executives from Insurance Associates, Stan A.
Kinoshita & Associates, and Fireman's Fund will come together for a special public recognition
event where the grant package will be presented:

Date / Time: Location:
Monday, May 5, 2008, Mauna Lani Resort, Hale Hoaloha Pavilion
6:00 p.m. 68-1400 Mauna Lani Dr.
Kohala Coast, HI

-MORE-
®2008 Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Novato, CA All rights reserved. `oT-,;._-.
