09 UZ 913 %te1) 043:51 1-AA 80133265697 4004
page 3
what procedures need to be implemented before any changes can be
made. He told me that he could help with additional signage along
Kaloko Drive but that the County Council would be the governing
body that would dictate the speed limits .
Currently, there are only 2 speed limit signs in the lower portion
of Kaloko Drive. The first sign abuts our family property and is
approximately 300 to 400 feet from the bottom of Kaloko Drive as
you drive up the street. The second sign is located approx. 11/2
miles up the street near the crossroad or upper intersection of
Kaloko Drive and Hao Street. This second sign is for the traffic
driving down Kaloko Drive .
We would appreciate very much the County Council seriously
considering a lower speed limit for these areas of Kaloko where
there is an increased number of houses , new subdivision lots , and
many more children attempting to wait for their school buses in a
safe area where cars are speeding by or slowing down at 40 plus
miles per hour.
.S4ncerely,
Pam Burla and Patricia Burla
73-1296 Kaloko Drive
Kailua-Kona, HI . 96740 •
Ph: 325-7162
