D. PUBLIC FACILITIES AND SERVICES <br />28. Description of access: (paved or unpaved, private or county, right-of--way <br />and pavement width. If private road, submit evidence of legal access rights) <br />Access to the property is provided by Lanikaula Street which has a pavement <br />width of 20 feet within 60 foot wide right of way. The project site fronts on <br />Kilauea Avenue which has a pavement width of 36 feet with a 60 foot wide <br />right of way. Use Permit No 124, a 10 foot wide road widening strip along the <br />entire frontage of Kilauea Avenue and a 5 foot wide road widening strip along <br />the frontage of entire frontage of Lanikaula street has been designated on <br />project plans <br />29. Availability of water: The existing water supply would be sufficient for the <br />proposed office use. <br />30. Sewage Disposal: There is an existing sewer line in front of the property. <br />31. Solid Waste: Solid waste will be handled by commercial haulers who will <br />dispose of the refuse at the county landfill in Hilo. During the course of <br />preparing the site for this conversion, the applicant intends to retain as much of <br />the material on the property. This should thus minimize disposal at approved <br />disposal sites. As such, the applicant does not believe that a solid waste <br />management plan is necessary for a project of this nature. <br />32. Police and fire protection: Police services aze available at the main station on <br />Kapiolani Street and fire protection services aze available at the Hilo Central <br />Fire Station located at the comer of Kinoole Street and Ponahawaii Street. <br />32b. Schools :Schools neaz the azea aze the University of Hawaii, Waiakea High <br />School and Chieffess Kapiolani School and St. Joseph School. The proposed <br />change of zone will not have any impact on these schools. <br />33. Parks : The proposed change of zone will not have any impact on parks <br />serving the county of Hilo. <br />34. Other utilities and services (telephone/electricity) : The subject <br />property is served by electrical and telephone lines from the adjacent streets. <br />E.
