REQUEST: <br />To amend the FY08-09 Operating Budget, Ordinance No. 08-78, to include a federal grant for Waste <br />Reduction and Recycling as follows: <br />085.3308.24 Federal Grants -Waste Reduction & Recycl., HIEDB $100,000 <br />085.601.5607.31 Waste Reduction & Recycl, HIEDB OCE $100,000 <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The Hawaii Island Economic Development Board (HIEDB) has received a Federal grant from the <br />Environmental Protection Agency and wishes to provide $100,000 to the County of Hawaii from this grant. <br />This funding is to conduct a study of curb side trash and recycling pick up for the Panaewa and Keaukaha <br />Communities.
