No. 90-85) <br /> WHAM. INC., Kailua, Kona. TMK: 7-5-04: 6 and 13 <br /> Please be informed that the subject properties were rezoned into the General <br /> Commercial (CG-20) district on July 16, 1990, subject to a number of conditions. Some of <br /> those conditions are no longer applicable, as they have been implemented. Equally importazrt, <br /> there were certain development performance requirements, and these have not been met. As <br /> such, the owners are requesting the required amendments, as discussed below. <br /> 1. General Backeround <br /> A. Project Location <br /> The subject properties, consisting of 9+_ acres, are located on the south side of <br /> Henry Street, between Kuakini Highway and the extension of the Queen <br /> Kaahumanu Highway. (See Exhibit 1). <br /> B. Permitting History <br /> The subject properties were rezoned into the General Commercial (CG-20) <br /> district on July 19, 1990, subject to a number of conditions. (See Exhibit 2). <br /> C. Land Ownership <br /> During the latter part of 1990 and subsequent to the rezoning action, the <br /> subject properties were acquired by Auto Imports Hawaii and Robert N. <br /> Iwamoto, Jr. The owners then formed a partnership called WHAM, Inc. to <br /> develop the site. <br /> Over the past seven (7) years, WHAM, Inc. has been actively working to <br /> fulfill the various conditions of approval.
