NO. 414BILL NO. 12] <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 9:11 a.m. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 414 <br /> and attached Bill No. 121, reports as follows: <br /> The purpose of Bill No. 121 is to amend the Traffic Code to allow parking on both sides of <br /> Ululani Street between Waianuenue Avenue and Wailuku Drive. <br /> Bill No. 121 would amend Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 <br /> (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, item (131), to read as follows: <br /> "(131) Ululani Street, mauka side, between [Wailuku Drive] Waianuenue Avenue and <br /> Wailoa Street." <br /> Communication No. 414 is a letter from Chief Engineer Donna Fay K Kiyosaki, dated <br /> July 23, 1997, which transmits Bill No. 121 to the Council for its consideration. <br /> At the meeting Richard Nishimura, of the Department of Public Works Traffic Division, <br /> informed Your Committee that since Ululani Street has been converted to one-way traffic, <br /> parking has been allowed on both sides of the road. Consequently, this bill is a housekeeping <br /> measure to amend the code to allow this practice on the one-way portion of Ululani Street.
