NO. 849 /BILL NO. 249 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 9:07 a.m. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 849, <br /> and attached Bill No. 249, reports as follows: <br /> The purpose of Bill No. 249 is to amend Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2, Section 24-272, of the <br /> Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), relating to Vehicles and Traffic. <br /> Communication No. 849 is lrom Donna Fay K. Kiyosaki, Chief Engineer of the Department of <br /> Public Works, informing that Public Works will be converting the existing mauka bound left turn <br /> phase on Waianuenue Avenue to a "lagging green." Ms. Kiyosaki states that in order for this traffic <br /> signal phasing modification to be effective, it will be necessary to prohibit makai-bound right turns <br /> onto Komohana Street from Waianuenue Avenue when the traffic signal indicates red.
