COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />'715 Q 8 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF STATE FUNDING <br />APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO ACT 213, SESSION LAWS OF <br />HAWAII 2007, FOR COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUG EFFORTS ON THE ISLAND OF HAWAII <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 213, Session Laws of Hawaii 2007 which <br />appropriated funding for the County of Hawaii to continue its community-based anti-drug education, <br />awareness, and prevention program; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used for providing grants to community organizations and <br />grassroots groups to undertake.projects that promote drug prevention awareness and education; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the <br />consent of the council to expend, and receive any funds or other assistance the federal or state <br />governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any powers granted by law. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it <br />authorizes the receipt and expenditure of funds for acommunity-based anti-drug education, awareness, <br />and prevention program on the Island of Hawaii, pursuant to Act 213, Session Laws of Hawaii 2007. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of <br />this resolution to the Departments of Finance and Research & Development. <br />Dated at Kona ,Hawaii, this 27th day of August , 2008. <br />CED BY: <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, <br />COUNTY COUNCIL <br />County of Hawaii <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br />1 hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION was by the <br />vote indicated to the right hereof adopted by the COUNCIL of the <br />Coun[yofHawai`ion August 27, 2008 <br />ATTEST <br />HAWAII <br />ROLL CALL.
