This project includes the planning <br /> and design of a new community/senior center that will provide a permanent home for <br /> department programs, such as seniors' services and youth summer fun and intersession <br /> programs for the Kahuku area of Ka'u. The facility will provide a safe venue for community <br /> functions, public meetings, gatherings and parties as well. The center will provide office <br /> spaces for department staff, a kitchen area, a large hall type room, public restrooms and <br /> t <br /> supporting infrastructure and amenities. <br /> This appropriation, supplementing an existing appropriation for this same project, brings <br /> the total funding to $500,000.
