No. 1327 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 12:10 p.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 1327, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Communication No. 1327, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated July 8, 2008, authorizes <br /> the acceptance of following donations: <br /> <br /> A monetary donation of $1,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation, to be used for the purchase of a <br /> bench at the Richardson Ocean Park, in honor of Maury and Molly Zimring, by Mr. Franklin E. Zimring. <br /> A donation of a carpet (with a total estimated value of $798.93) to the Department of Parks and Recreation, to <br /> be installed for use at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Swimming Pool, by Paul's Enterprises LTD. <br /> <br /> In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes the <br /> Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with (2) Chapter 2, <br /> Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any donation or gift which does not <br /> fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall be submitted to the Council by letter <br /> for its approval. <br /> <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Franklin E. Zimring, 40 Arlmont Drive, Kensington, CA 94707, and <br /> to Paul's Enterprise Ltd., 110 Hualalai Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging these generous donations. <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $1000.00 donation from <br /> Mr. Franklin E.
