Yamashita <br /> Request: RS-10 to CN-10 <br /> Tax Map Key: 2-2-23:09 <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission, after a duly held public hearing on September 18, 1998, voted to <br /> recommend for your approval the proposed legislative bill to change the district classification <br /> for approximately 29,725 square feet of land from Single Family Residential (RS-10) to <br /> Neighborhood Commercial (CN-10). The property is located on the northwest corner of the <br /> Kinoole and L.ono Streets intersection, south of the Kinoole Medical Center and across the Big <br /> <br /> Island Educational Federal Credit Union, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii. <br /> <br /> The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending <br /> favorable consideration of the change of zone: <br /> <br /> The request for a change of zone designation from an RS-10 to CN-10 would <br /> allow for the construction of a small medical office building for the applicant's internist <br /> practice. <br /> <br /> In order to consider an area for any type of zoning designation, the applicable <br /> goals, policies and standards of the General Plan must be adequately addressed. It is only <br /> through such a comprehensive policy analysis approach that evaluations and decisions <br /> can be made to better time and stage developments to achieve growth determined by the <br /> General Plan and related planning documents.
