Balog, Chairman <br /> Planning Commission <br /> County of Hawaii <br /> 25 Aupuni Street, Room 109 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> <br /> RE: State Land Use Boundary Amendment and Change of Zone <br /> Application <br /> Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation (HICDC) <br /> Tax Map Key 1-7-17: Portion of 3 <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. Balog: <br /> <br /> <br /> Please accept this letter as our written testimony AGAINST the <br /> proposed change of the State Land Use boundary amendment request from <br /> Agriculture to Urban and the change of zone request from Agriculture - 1 <br /> acre to Single - Family Residential 10,000 by HICDC for the subject <br /> property. <br /> <br /> <br /> We believe that the present Agricultural - 1 acre zoning granted to the <br /> current landowners a few years ago is appropriate for this area's traffic and <br /> safety. We strongly feel that approval of HICDC's proposed land use <br /> amendment and change of zoning will be very detrimental to the rural life <br /> style practiced and enjoyed by its present area residents like our <br /> grandparents. This area is rural - not URBAN.
