REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br /> DATE: November 5, 1998 Re: C-1045/Resolution No. 344-98 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 1:52 p.m. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 344-98, transmitted by <br /> Planning Director Virginia Goldstein per Communication No. 1045, dated October 23, 1998, <br /> regarding the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management Program, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 344-98 authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement for services with the <br /> Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), Office of Planning, <br /> State of Hawaii, to implement the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program. It also <br /> authorizes the Mayor to enter in future agreements and any related documents since the County's <br /> Planning Department receives funds from the DBEDT on an annual basis. <br /> The funds provided by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, Office <br /> of Planning, are derived from grants provided by the federal and state govemments.
