Following is a description of the proposed amendments: <br />Increase in taxi meter rates <br />The chazge per 1/8 mile of travel, and one minute of waiting time would increase <br />from 30 cents to 40 cents. Below is a comparison of travel costs for taxi <br />customers if the proposed changes were approved. <br />First mile of travel <br />Current rate Proposed rate <br />$5.40 $6.20 <br />Each additional mile of travel <br />Current rate Proposed rate <br />$2.40 $3.20 <br />In addition, a new section would be added to the ordinance stating the taxi meter faze <br />schedule may be evaluated on an annual basis to make a determination to either increase <br />or decrease taxi meter rates. <br />/ I ~{-~ ~~,~ ~ Comm.
