Angel Pilago, via Communication No. 1333, dated <br />July 10, 2008, amends Chapter 14, Article 1, Section 14-2(a) and Chapter 15, Article 8, Section <br />15-68.1, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), relating to the Old Kona <br />Airport Park to include the Old Kona Airport Park in the Department of Parks and Recreation's <br />facilities schedule. <br />The bill also adds the Old Kona Airport Park picnic pavilions and events pavilion, excluding the <br />runway and park areas surrounding the runway, Pawai Bay, and the park area at the end of the <br />runway, to the list of public places requiring permits for intoxicating liquor between the hours of <br />10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />Committee Member K. Angel Pilago stated that he was introducing the bill to allow the County <br />to take official ownership of the area and to clarify permitted use of intoxicating liquor. <br />Committee Member Pilago also stated that credit needs to be given to Committee Member <br />Dominic Yagong for bringing this matter to his attention. <br />There was no public testimony. Committee Members Dominic Yagong and Emily Naeole <br />stated that they were in support of the bill. <br />
