COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 'x'7`7 0~ RESOLUTION ABOLISHING ARIGHT-OF-WAY AGENT POSITION AND CREATING A CLERK III POSITION WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council and abolish positions with the consent of the council."; and WHEREAS, within the Department of Finance Property Management Division, the duties of the Right-of-way Agent position, Position No. 00-04722, are now part of the responsibilities of the Property Management Specialist position; and WHEREAS, the Finance Department is requesting to abolish the Right-of-way Agent position and have a Clerk III, SR-10, position created for the Property Management Division; and WHEREAS, abolishment of the Right-of-way Agent position will not impact the division's ability to perform essential functions; and WHEREAS, the Clerk III position will provide clerical and administrative support in connection with the acquisition, management, and disposition of County real property interests and County fixed assets, as well as fiscal responsibilities; and WHEREAS, the creation of this Clerk III position will allow for better efficiency in the overall day to day operations of the Property Management Division; and WHEREAS, funds will become available in the Property Management Regular Salaries and Wages Account, upon the abolishment of the Right-of-way Agent position. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 00-04722, Right-of-way Agent, SR-22, position be abolished and that a Clerk III, SR-10, position be created.
