The Food Basket Inc. provides homeless <br />outreach through our network of 115 non profit agencies that distributers food <br />throughout the Island of Hawaii to the homeless population, low income seniors <br />and the food insecure. <br />What will the Council Contingency funds be used for? <br />Council Contingency funds will be used to provide food and program <br />supplies to The Office of Social Ministry, who is working in conjunction with <br />other non profits and volunteer organization to better serve the homeless <br />population in Puna. The funds will be used to secure food for brown bags <br />and to prepare hot meals for homeless, indigent and hungry individuals and <br />families. <br />How does the Council Contiugency funds benefit the public at large? <br />The Council Contingency fund will benefit the public at large by providing <br />nutritious food to the homeless population at no cost to the agencies or the <br />individuals seeking assistance. The funds will make a difference for families <br />facing economic challenges. <br />Please attach a budget with a list of line items and budget amounts. <br />See attached <br />
