Due to the increased number of mandates, projects, requests, and <br /> personnel along with establishing a new West Hawaii Facility, our support section is <br /> understaffed to handle the increased workload. The new Account Clerk position will <br /> assist the Sr. Account Clerk (00-04470) with accounting, fiscal and improved <br /> inventory matters. <br /> <br /> <br /> 2. Can new duties be assigned to existing positions or handled in other way such as <br /> short term contracts, etc. <br /> <br /> No, due to insufficient staff, increased workload and anticipated new accountability <br /> .requirements from Highway Fund Legislative Audits. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 3. (Use <br /> productivity measurements where possible.): <br /> <br /> Without this position, the Traffic Division would not be able to keep up with the <br /> increased demands of the Division as we are increasing staffing, adding on a Safety <br /> Section as well as adding both a West Hawaii Signs & Markings Section and a West <br /> Hawaii Signal & Street Light Section. This will result in increased recordkeeping and <br /> maintenance of records. <br />
