Page 2 ~ Communication No. 1503/Res 775-08 <br />Council member Bob Jacobson expressed concern regarding funds previously spent in Kainaliu <br />to address parking and road work in front of Oshima store about six months ago. Mr. Jacobson <br />commented on the need for better planning and coordination of these projects to avoid financial; <br />waste. <br />Committee chair Brenda Ford commended the excellent on-going work by Department of Public <br />Works and their effort to help the retailers in Kainaliu with sidewalk improvements and <br />simultaneously dealing with the traffic issue through this area. Ms. Ford added that the retailers <br />are appreciative of the measures DPW has taken to Lessen impact to their businesses by having a <br />blackout period from November 27, 2008 through January 1, 2009 and doing some of the work <br />at night.
