Yamashiro dated February 7, 199"7, reports as follows: <br /> The purpose of Communication No. 143 is to recommend the appointment of the following <br /> individual as a member of the Hawaii County Board of Appeals: <br /> Mr. William F. Green of Hilo, is nominated to fill the vacancy created by the unexpired <br /> term ending December 31, 1997 of Ms. Mildred C. Mosher of Ka'u who has resigned to <br /> served as a member of the Hawaii County Planing Commission. <br /> Mr. Green, a Democrat, has been the ownerlproprietor of the PCI Chemical Corporation <br /> since 1991. Prior to that he was employed as a Vice President of Sales with Allied <br /> Machinery (1970-1990). He is a member of the Board of the Hilo Yacht Club and Vice <br /> President of the Hilo Stroke Club of the American Heari Association. <br /> Pursuant to Section 5-6.3 of the Hawaii County Charter, the mayor shall appoint members to the <br /> Board of Appeals to be confirmed by the Council, as prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii <br /> County Charter. <br /> Mr. Green, who does not have any potential conflicts, has the time and commitment to serve as a <br /> member of the Board of Appeals in the public's interest.
