<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> HPD CLICK IT OR TICKET PROGRAM <br /> PAGE2 <br /> <br /> <br /> GRANT PERIOD RESULTS: <br /> (FOURTH OUARTERXINAL REPORT) <br /> <br /> <br /> 1. Hawaii Police Department through our Hawaii Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) <br /> conducted a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on July 19-20, 2008 at the Honokaa Sports <br /> Complex Gymnasium. <br /> <br /> A total of two 3 on 3 basketball tournaments were held during this grant. The <br /> First tournament was held on May 16-18, 2008 at the Keaau High School <br /> Gymnasium. <br /> <br /> 2. There were 32 teams, with a total of 160 participants. The participants were both <br /> boys and girls aged between 7-17 years old. <br /> <br /> There were a total of 93 teams, with the total number of participants at 465 for <br /> both of the tournaments. The participants were both'boys and girls, ranging <br /> in ages 5-17 years old. <br /> <br /> 3. There were a total of 160 written pledges received from the participating youth to <br /> wear their seatbelts. In addition to these pledges, non-participating siblings, parents, <br /> grandparents, volunteers, coaches and spectators were reminded about the <br /> importance of seatbelt and child safety seat usage. Total amount of spectators for <br /> tournament was 1,500 people over the course of the 2 day event. <br /> <br /> There were a total of 465 written pledges from participants to wear their seat <br /> belts. Total spectators for both tournaments were 4,000 people. <br /> <br /> 4. Approximately 225 "Click It or Ticket" t-shirts were given out to all of the tourna- <br /> ment participants and volunteers which reminded everyone of the importance of <br /> seat belt usage. <br /> There were approximately 625 "Click It or Ticket" t-shirts given out during the <br /> course of the two tournaments. <br /> <br /> 5. Each day of the tournament, participants and spectators were given a presentation on <br /> the current laws in Hawaii relative to the use of seatbelts and child safety seats. <br /> <br /> Presentations were given during both tournaments. <br /> <br /> 6. A total of 105 "Click it or Ticket" medals were awarded to participants who placed in <br /> the top 3 places per division. <br /> <br /> There were 240 "Click it or Ticket" medals awarded during the two <br /> tournaments. <br />
