Honokaa High School girls' basketball team assisted throughout the tournament. <br /> <br /> HIPAL was able to collaborate with both the Keaau High School and Honokaa <br /> High School students, parents and coaches during these two tournaments. <br /> <br /> 8. A media release was released prior to the tournament and a second media release <br /> was made with the results of the winning teams in all divisions. Photos of the <br /> divisional winners were also a part of the release. These media releases are on our <br /> department web site. No car seat-checkpoint was conducted due to unavailability <br /> of certified car-seat technicians. <br /> <br /> Pre and post media releases were made for both tournaments. <br /> <br /> 9. The tournament was held on July 19-20, 2008. Although this was not held <br /> during the National "Click It or Ticket" Campaign which was between May 12- <br /> June 1, 2008. This tournament reiterated the need and importance of seat belt <br /> and child safety seats usage not just during the campaign but throughout the year. <br /> <br /> The first tournament was held on May 16-18, 2008. The tournament was held <br /> in conjuction with The National "Click it or Ticket" campaign. The campaign <br /> was on May 12- June 1, 2008. <br /> <br /> 10. HI-PAL was able to collaborate with Honokaa High School and the County <br /> Parks and Recreation Division (Honokaa Sports Complex Gymnasium) <br /> with the tournament. <br /> <br /> During the first tournament, HIPAL was able to collaborate with Keaau High <br /> School. <br /> <br /> Of the 10 performance indicators 8 were met. We were able to conduct two <br /> Tournaments, we were able to get the 1,000 pledges, 465 written and the rest <br /> were verbal from the parents, siblings, and coaches. A "Click it or Ticket" <br /> presentation was given daily with pre and post media releases for the <br /> tournaments. The different volunteers from Keaau High School, Honokaa High <br /> School and the County Of Hawaii Parks and Recreation helped with the two <br /> tournaments. The first tournament was held during the National "Click it or <br /> Ticket" campaign. HIPAL was able to collaborate with Keaau, Honokaa High <br /> School and Parks and Recreation. We did not hit our goal of 600 youth, but we <br /> did have 465 total participants, we made 77.5 % of the goal. We also did not <br /> issue 300 medals, but 240 or 80% were issued. Overall the tournaments were <br /> successful, enjoyed by all participants and spectators, with all anxiously awaiting <br /> next years tournaments. <br />
