There are currently five half <br /> time Water Safety Officer II positions at that location, two of which are vacant. Since <br /> there are qualified and interested candidates to fill a Water Safety Officer II position if it <br /> was a full time position, the Fire Department is requesting the creation of a full time <br /> Water Safety Officer II, SR-17, position. This will facilitate better scheduling and beach <br /> coverage in that area. Presently, there are two (2) funded Water Safety Officer II (1/2T) <br /> positions vacancies at the respective beach/unit and their funding will be used towards <br /> the new position. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution that creates a Water Safety Officer II position for the Hawai'i Fire <br /> Department. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawai'i Fire Department. <br /> <br /> 4-1,; e: <br /> <br /> NancylE.
