No. 16-09 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />TI_IV1E: 8:30a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. ] 6-09, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No.16-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication <br />No. 29, dated December 3,2008, creates a Water Safety II position for the Hawaii Fire <br />Department. <br />The Hawaii Fire Department is having difficulties in its recruitment for part-time Water Safety <br />Officer Il positions, particularly in the Kona District. There are currently five half-time Water <br />Safety Officer II positions at that location, two of which are vacant. Since there are qualified and <br />interested candidates to fill a Water Safety Officer II position if it was a full time position, the <br />Fire Department is requesting the creation of a full-time ~`/ater Safety Officer II, SR-17, position. <br />Councilmember Ford requested support.
