CURRENT TITLE <br /> PAY GRADE <br /> COMMENTS: <br /> This request is to establish a new full time Water Safety Officer II (WSO II) position in the Kona District <br /> utilizing currently available funding from two (2) part time WSO II positions allocated for the same <br /> district. The basis and justification for this request includes: <br /> 1. Presently there are two (2) funded part time WSO 11 position vacancies at the respective <br /> beach/unit. No additional funding would be necessary to establish a new full time position. <br /> 2. There are qualified and interested employees to fill the proposed new position. <br /> 3. As demonstrated through a continuous recruitment process, it is difficult to recruit qualified <br /> and desirable candidates for some of the WSO 11 vacancies and a full time position provides <br /> additional employment incentive for prospective candidates. <br /> 4. The establishment of an additional full time position will facilitate better scheduling and beach <br /> coverage. <br /> 5.
