Additional. Federal Highway Administration <br /> funding was requested and received for this project. The increase in funding insures proper <br /> construction of this project, which realigns the eastern terminus of Kealaka'a Street to <br /> intersect Palani Road at Palihiolo Street to form a new intersection that will improve vehicular <br /> and pedestrian access and safety for users of the high traffic volume intersection. <br /> Since this project is already on-going and the additional funding will be needed soon for <br /> upcoming change orders, the Department of Public Works would like to request a waiver <br /> from the Finance committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for <br /> December 17, 2008. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Public Works. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Nancy E.
