B. Executive Committee Reports The following Executive Committee reports were approved: Report of official action taken at the October 20, 2008, Executive Committee Meeting approving a resolution in support of the recovery of the Hawaii State Mammal, the Critically Endangered Endemic Hawaiian Monk Seal. 2. Report of official action taken at the October 20, 2008, Executive Committee Meeting approving and referring to the county councils seven items for inclusion in the 2009 HSAC Legislative Package. C. County Reports Maui Countv Report. Treasurer Pontanilla reported that Maui Mayor Tavares has instructed the county's departments to reduce their FY 2009 budgets by 16 percent. Hawaii Countv Report. Vice President Jacobson reported that Dennis Onishi will be his replacement for HSAC, with Kelly Greenwell as alternate. City and Countv of Honolulu Reoort. Secretary Garcia reported on legislation currently under consideration by the Honolulu Council: 1) Bill 67 (2008) regarding the use of electronic devices while driving, 2) Bill 6 (2008) regarding the regulation of bed and breakfast homes, and 3) Bill 64 (2008) regarding changing the transit system route. Kauai Countv Report. President Rapozo reported that prior to the General Election, the Kauai Council had selected Councilmember Kouchi as the HSAC representative with Councilmember Kaneshiro as the alternate. However, since Councilmember Kouchi was not re-elected, Councilmember Kaneshiro will act as HSAC President at the December 2008 meeting. D. National Association of Counties (NACo) Report President Rapozo reviewed the status of the NACo board members. Kauai Councilmember Iseri-Carvalho will serve on the board until her term expires. Honolulu Councilmember Dela Cruz will continue to serve as the President's appointee. Maui Councilmember Pontanilla will replace Maui Council Chair Hokama on the NACo board.
