<br />B. Executive Committee Reports <br />The following Executive Committee reports were approved: <br />Report of official action taken at the October 20, 2008, Executive <br />Committee Meeting approving a resolution in support of the <br />recovery of the Hawaii State Mammal, the Critically Endangered <br />Endemic Hawaiian Monk Seal. <br />2. Report of official action taken at the October 20, 2008, Executive <br />Committee Meeting approving and referring to the county councils <br />seven items for inclusion in the 2009 HSAC Legislative Package. <br />C. County Reports <br />Maui Countv Report. Treasurer Pontanilla reported that Maui Mayor <br />Tavares has instructed the county's departments to reduce their FY 2009 <br />budgets by 16 percent. <br />Hawaii Countv Report. Vice President Jacobson reported that Dennis <br />Onishi will be his replacement for HSAC, with Kelly Greenwell as <br />alternate. <br />City and Countv of Honolulu Reoort. Secretary Garcia reported on <br />legislation currently under consideration by the Honolulu Council: 1) Bill <br />67 (2008) regarding the use of electronic devices while driving, 2) Bill 6 <br />(2008) regarding the regulation of bed and breakfast homes, and 3) Bill 64 <br />(2008) regarding changing the transit system route. <br />Kauai Countv Report. President Rapozo reported that prior to the General <br />Election, the Kauai Council had selected Councilmember Kouchi as the <br />HSAC representative with Councilmember Kaneshiro as the alternate. <br />However, since Councilmember Kouchi was not re-elected, <br />Councilmember Kaneshiro will act as HSAC President at the December <br />2008 meeting. <br />D. National Association of Counties (NACo) Report <br />President Rapozo reviewed the status of the NACo board members. <br />Kauai Councilmember Iseri-Carvalho will serve on the board until her term <br />expires. Honolulu Councilmember Dela Cruz will continue to serve as the <br />President's appointee. Maui Councilmember Pontanilla will replace Maui <br />Council Chair Hokama on the NACo board. <br />
