No. 25 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 25, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 25, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated <br />December 2, 2008, authorizes the acceptance of donations from Mr. Jason Takeya, Native FM <br />45.9, and Ms. Elisa Young, Hotdog on A Stick, to be used for primate enrichment at the Panaewa <br />Rainforest Zoo. The value of this donation is estimated at $83.71 each, totaling $167.42. <br />Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br />County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br />Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or <br />gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall <br />be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval. <br />A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Takeya at Nati~~e FM 95.9, 75-5858 Alii Drive, Suite <br />B1 & B2, Beach Building, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740, and Ms. Young, Hotdog on A Stick, <br />111 East Puainako Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging there generous donation. <br />Councilmember Enriques questioned why no resolution was generated to accept the monetary <br />donation.
